Best AI health coach apps (2026)
The best AI health coach app depends on the data you already have. Helsa and January AI coach you on food and metabolic health from your phone alone, while Oura, WHOOP and Google Health build their AI coaches on data from their own wearables, and Stelo pairs its AI coach with a glucose sensor.

Disclosure: Helsa is our product. We aim to be fair: every fact about another app links to the public source we checked, and we point out where other apps are the better fit.
How we chose
- We only included apps with an AI coach you can chat with or that gives AI-generated guidance, and we note any device each one needs.
- Every price, platform and feature comes from the company’s own website, help center or app store listing, checked on September 30, 2026. See the sources at the bottom of the page.
- Where we couldn’t verify something from a public source, we left it out and marked it “Not verified”.
- Helsa is our product, so we list it first, and we say plainly where another app is the better fit. We don’t use affiliate links.

Frequently asked questions
Do AI health coach apps need a wearable?
Some do. Oura, WHOOP and Google Health's coach only work with their own ring, band or watch, and Stelo's coach is built around its glucose sensor. Helsa and January AI work from your phone, though both can use data from Apple Health or connected wearables.
Which AI health coach is best for blood sugar?
If you want real glucose data, Stelo combines an AI coach with a glucose sensor. Without a sensor, Helsa coaches the habits that drive blood sugar and analyzes lab results such as A1C, and January AI predicts how specific foods may affect your glucose.
Can an AI health coach replace my doctor?
No. These apps give general wellness guidance: Oura and WHOOP state they're not medical devices, Dexcom notes Stelo's AI tips aren't medical advice, and Helsa is for informational purposes only. Use them alongside your healthcare provider, not instead of one.
How much do AI health coach apps cost?
Helsa and January AI have free tiers with paid upgrades. Oura's membership is $5.99 a month and Google Health Premium is $9.99 a month, on top of the device, and WHOOP memberships cost $199 to $359 a year. Stelo's app is free, but its sensors start at $99.
Which AI coach can read my blood test results?
Helsa analyzes lab values such as A1C, cholesterol and triglycerides. January AI and Google Health import lab results from medical records, WHOOP accepts lab uploads, and Oura offers lab testing through its Health Panels.
